Where better to begin your career than a place that’s truly unique?

Around 20% of the UK’s energy is currently generated by nuclear power. However many of our nuclear power stations and reactors are coming to the end of their lifespan. A significant part of our work involves assessing and dealing with the legacy of this older nuclear generation. For example, the creation of innovative, safe and cost-effective decommissioning strategies is an area that provokes keen commercial and national interest.
But the future of nuclear power has always been the subject of lively debate as well. With rising fuel prices, natural resources running out and a growing reliance on imported fuel, nuclear energy is the future of UK energy. Which is why the UK is going to invest in the creation of new nuclear power stations and the industry will create up to 100,000 new roles for people to build, run, maintain and improve this new generation.
We aim to place ourselves at the centre of all related R&D programmes. We’ll work with businesses, universities and governments to improve safety and efficiency at sites across the world. We’ll help to decommission sites and we’ll help to design new sites around the world. We’ll take on new challenges and ensure that everyone works collaboratively to ensure that the UK’s nuclear skills, facilities and expertise continue to lead the way.
